Sophos Antivirus 7 Expired March 31, 2011

Sophos Antivirus 7 for Windows will be reaching end-of-life on March 31, 2011. You may see a red "X" on your Sophos icon.

UITS is providing the latest version, Sophos Antivirus 9. If you install and manage your Sophos software, you will need to download the new software. This upgrade will not affect computers that use a departmental update server. The University of Arizona purchased an unlimited site license for Sophos anti-virus server and workstation software provided by Sophos, Incorporated.

Available at no cost to UA faculty, staff, and students, for use on campus systems and personal workstations located at home

Available Products

Sophos Anti-Virus offers the ability to automatically update and maintain Sophos Anti-Virus software on many platforms. Links on this website will allow you to install the Sophos Anti-Virus program. After the installation is completed the program will automatically download the latest IDEs (virus definitions), and then continue to update Sophos automatically through network connections to a server located at UITS.

Campus Servers and Network Administrators

Sophos Enterprise Manager provides a fully automated web-based installation and updating of Sophos Anti-Virus across a wide range of platforms.
Sophos MailMonitor performs virus detection and disinfection of email passing through gateways. Supported servers include Exchange 2000, 2003 and SMTP. The software must be installed on a server, not directly on a workstation.
